Welcome to the website for the 2012
Ridge Invitational
The Ridge High School Speech and Debate Team would like to invite
you to the eighth annual “Ridge Invitational.” We hope to continue
offering a great alternate/additional tournament during the Emory
weekend. .
We are offering all ten New Jersey speech events, Public Forum,
Lincoln-Douglas Debate, and Student Congress As last year,
awards will be presented to the top six competitors in each event, the
top six schools, and the top non-advancing novice in each speech
category. We are also instituting a sweepstakes award for the
highest achieving school with less than fifteen entries. See the
"Awards" section for more details. Please feel free to contact me
regarding any clarification of rules or procedure.
To ensure a smooth and well-run tournament, we hope to have all
registrations by Wednesday, January 25, 2012. We are
anticipating a greater amount of schools and entries this year, so
please adhere to this deadline. All registrations should be completed
via www.tabroom.com. See the entry/registration page for more
details.. There will be a $50.00 penalty for "school" registrations
received after this date or not submitted via the website.
Registration will take place between 8:00 and 8:45 in the main lobby
the high school. Please ensure your team arrives by 8:45 so we may
start the day's activities promptly. The first round will begin promptly
at 9:30am, and awards are tentatively scheduled for 6:00pm.
Breakfast and Lunch will be available a la carte for all students.
Coaches and judges will receive a continental breakfast and lunch.
Basking Ridge is located 30 miles west of New York City and 75 miles
northeast of Philadelphia. We are located on two major NJ arteries: I-
287 and I-78 with easy access to the New Jersey Turnpike, Garden
State Parkway, and I-80. See the "Maps and Directions" page for

We fully intend to begin as scheduled. Enclosed are the registration
form, tournament information, and directions to the high school. If
